With today’s technology, hand-written notes are few and far between. But, especially with wedding season in full force, why not kick it old school with a pen and paper?!

On a webisode of Suite Living, I demonstrate how to transform ordinary, blank cards in to customized, classy stationery.

Customized stationery – everything from thank-you cards to wedding invitations – can get really expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! Scroll through this step-by-step process and see just how easy and inexpensive it can be!

All you need for this project is a set of cards and envelopes, a pen and an embosser. There are limitless designs from lots of online companies, but I ordered mine here.

1)    Practice Makes Perfect – Every embosser is different, so practice with a piece of paper to get a feel for the size and the layout. This will help you determine where you will emboss on your cards.

2)    Signed and Delivered – Write your personal message and address the envelope.

3)    Stamp – Remember these? Call me crazy, but what’s the point in taking the time to send a card but not bother to neatly stick the stamp on the envelope? Don’t just slap it anywhere – take your time and line it up nicely in the corner.

And look at that. These cards will make people think that you spent a small fortune – but only you’ll know that you didn’t!
