There’s no doubt about it – watercolours are a huge trend for this year’s wedding season!
On an episode of Suite Living, I demonstrate a super easy way to incorporate the trend into your entertaining tablescapes.
Now, I love clean, white table linens just as much as the next girl, but maybe it’s time to shake things up a bit with some colour – and by colour, I mean watercolour.
For these watercolour napkins, you’ll need plain white cloth napkins, two spray bottles, water and two colours of watercolour paint. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also try this on a table runner or tablecloth! But you had better show me pictures on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter…!
1) Lay it out – Lay out the napkin on a protected surface.
2) Bottled Up – Fill the bottles just over half full. Then, squeeze a pea sized amount of each colour into separate bottles. Shake the bottles until the paint is fully mixed into the water.
3) Spritz – Randomly spritz the two colours over the napkin. This gets fun, and I know it will be hard, but resist over doing it. By leaving some white spaces, you avoid a yucky ‘tie-dye’ look.
When you’re all finished, you’ll have one-of-a-kind napkins that will really set off your table décor!
